Environmental festivals and clean ups

Environmental festivals are organized throughout the year to encourage people to become actively involved in the development of effective waste management infrastructure. Educational stalls covering a range of environmental topics are set up. Slide and video productions concerning current environmental issues in both Dharamsala and World are presented, and key speakers are invited.

Indian and Tibetan primary school children participates in these programmes by preparing and performing songs, dances and skits on environmental topics. These festivals are accompanied by mass clean ups to clear away the garbage strewn over hillsides and river. 

Simultaneously, the tree plantation is also being carried out especially in the monsoon season with the support of tourists and locals.

Tibetan Welfare Office in conjunction with the Tibetan Delek Hospitals and Tibetan Medical & Astro. Institute organizes free medical check up in the town and villages.
